Ragwing Special experimental amateurbuilt light sport aircraft.

Experimental Aircraft News Magazine -RagWing Aircraft provides plans for Home-built aircraft. The plans use simple construction techniques, combined locally available materials such as glue and plywood.

Building a Ragwing requires about the same skill as that of building a wooden model airplane.

If you are confident in working with wood and metals, you should be able to complete one of these designs in a reasonable amount of time.

Other services offered by Ragwing Aircraft include ultralight flight instruction, Homebuilt Inspection, Technical counseling, Ultralight First Flight tests, Prototype design and construction, DAR signoffs and ultralight aircraft plans and kits.

The RagWing RW series of aircraft include a single place and a two place and were designed as a cross country cruisers, to provide a back to the barnstorming days aviation feeling. According to the designer Roger Mann, their flight and landing characteristics are a breeze, even for new pilots.

Cruise speed comes in at around 60 miles an hour, with the stall speed of 32 mph. Rate of climb is 750 ft./m. There are number of engine options available, starting with the 35 hp Kawasaki 448, Rotax 447, Rotax 503, the Hirth F. 23 and F. 30.

The single place, RagWing RW can be built as illegal part 103 ultralight aircraft using one of the smaller engines and the 5 gallon fuel tank. Switching to one of the larger engines, any optional 15 gallon fuel tank we'll put it into the experimental amateur built or home built categories.
